Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on March 26th on the 26th of March, 1991. She is an American musician and singer. She was the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In October of 2016 Ari Lennox dropped her Pho EP. The EP was where she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album, debuted on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox first released songs online in the year 2012. She released her debut album Ariography and her mixtape debut in 2013, the mixtape Five Finger Discount. Ari Lennox continued to upload her music online in 2014 and released her own single Bound. The track Sweat it is featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes album which dropped on July 21st, 2015. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville team at the time was interested in having her create Rihanna reference. She officially was signed to Dreamville Records on 8 December. The album Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the song Backseat along with Cozz. On the 21st of October in 2016, her EP Pho was released. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as being an opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017, in which she supported by EarthGang. In 2018, Ari Lennox performed on two tracks by EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018. The music video later released in September. The second single she released was Grampa on November 9. The 13th of November, she came out with two additional singles, The No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released in her debut single February 26, 2019, for the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby was featured with Cole as part of the Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. The 20th of February, 2019, a music video was released for the song. It already has nearly 3 million views on YouTube within the debut week. She was part of the 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
